The 2020 Women in Ag Summer Tour will be virtually visiting two unique farming operations to learn about hog and hemp production in Minnesota. We will be joining Wanda Patsche, a Minnesota hog farmer and author of Minnesota Farm Living, in her hog barn. Wanda will highlight pork production in Minnesota, specialized marketing in the pork industry, and the current and future impact of processing plant closure for hog producers. We will also be talking with Nicole Johnson, the manager of an industrial hemp processor in southern Minnesota. Nicole will share how they turn hemp into industrial fibers and the opportunities and challenges of niche marketing.
