Maroon and Gold Take on Big Ten Championship in French Lick, Indiana

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota men's golf team travels today to the French Lick Resort in French Lick, Indiana in preparation for this weekend's Big Ten Championship. The three-day event will be played on the esteemed Pete Dye Course.
The 54-hole tournament will feature one round of golf each day this weekend, Friday through Sunday, with the Big Ten champion crowned on the final day. The last time the Big Ten Championship was hosted in French Lick was the 2013-2014 season, when the Gophers last secured the Big Ten title, and then-freshman Jose Mendez took home a share of the individual title.
The Lineup:
The Gophers are sending six golfers to compete for a Big Ten title: senior Lincoln Johnson, juniors Antoine Sale and Connor Glynn, sophomore Ben Warian, and freshmen Bennett Swavely and Eduardo Galdos.
The Field:
All 14 Big Ten universities will be represented at the Big Ten Championship: Minnesota, (19)Illinois, (60)Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, (45)Michigan State, Nebraska, (46)Northwestern, (29)Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, Wisconsin (rankings per Golfstat.com Top-60).
The Course:
Sketched on a napkin and carved into history by Hall of Fame architect Pete Dye, the Pete Dye Course has gained national acclaim for its 40-mile panoramic views of the southern Indiana countryside, three man-made lakes, "volcano" bunkers, and a variety of elevation changes.
