We are now accepting applications for the 2019-2020 LGBTQ+ International Student Mentoring Program. This program aims to create long-lasting relationships between new international LGBTQ+ students and upper level students of the University to share personal and academic guidance and advice. In the program you will make connections with supportive campus community members, participate in fun social gatherings, and encourage academic and personal support: Empower others. Empower yourself!
Interested in participating as a Mentor?
Mentors should...
- Be currently enrolled as a full time International undergraduate, graduate, or professional student.
- Have been at the University of Minnesota for more than one academic year.
- Commit to the program for one academic year.
- Self-identify as a member of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, or asexual (LGBTQ+) community
Mentors should be available to attend a mentor-training meeting on October 23 (4 - 5.30 pm) and an optional Kickoff event on October 25 (4 - 5.30 pm).
