PAWS Program Orientation RSVP
Greetings and thank you so much for your interest in the PAWS program! One of the requirements for you to join is to go through an orientation about PAWS. These sessions are via zoom and/or in-person, and once you have registered, I will get in touch to get more specifics about your schedule. To attend this orientation, you do NOT have to have completed all your requirements with your animal partner to become a registered therapy animal team.

Upcoming orientation options:

~ Zoom TBD (see below for an option to provide me with a good day/time)

This session will take place immediately after the PAWS summer session and is a great opportunity for you to come early, observe a session, talk to other handlers, and meet some of the students. We hold PAWS from 11:00 - 1:00 at Coffman Memorial Union, 3rd Floor, Mississippi Room, and your parking will be covered. During this training, we will discuss the program, how this is different than other facilities where you might have gone with your animal, and how college student needs are particular to their developing years.

All species are welcome as long as the team is registered with Pet Partners, TDI, ITA, or Alliance of Therapy Dogs (or you are in the process of training and working towards registration). The PAWS program operates 4 days a week, and teams can sign up for one session or come weekly and stay for one hour or both hours of each two-hour session. We use an online scheduling program to track your visits. Teams are compensated with parking validation after each session.
