Gullah/Geechee Cultural Continuity in Spite of Rising Seas

Queen Quet, Chieftess and Head of State of the Gullah/Geechee Nation, is a published author, computer scientist, lecturer, mathematician, historian, columnist, preservationist, environmental justice advocate, environmentalist, film consultant, and “The Art-ivist.” She is the founder of the premiere advocacy organization for the continuation of Gullah/Geechee culture, the Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition.

Join the Winton Chair Committee in the Liberal Arts for an invigorating opening lecture and reception with Queen Quet on April 24th, 2018 at 4:00 pm in the Best Buy theater in Northrup Auditorium on the University of Minnesota campus.
