Registration: Winter coring and ICD short course March 5-7, 2018
Location: Facilities of LacCore/CSDCO, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.

March 5 (~2 PM - 5 PM): introduction and facility tour, including coring procedures, equipment demonstration.
March 6 (all day): hands-on winter coring experience on a local lake, using various techniques including drive rod/square rod piston coring, gravity coring, field extrusion and subsampling; guidance for successful and safe winter field work.
March 7 (8:30 AM - 4 PM): initial core description (ICD): multisensor core logging, core splitting and surface preparation, basic macroscopic and microscopic lithological core description, core correlation, free software for ICD, correlation, and composite depth scales.

All costs for transportation, lodging, and meals are the responsibility of the participant, and a nominal $50 fee for the workshop will be charged.
