This tutorial guides pre-doctoral researchers through the lengthy and complex application for the NIH National Research Service Awards (NRSA), including the F30, and F31 grants. The NRSA application can take at least 6 months to complete. The lecturer, a successful F31 awardee, provides an in-depth review of the entire NRSA application process and discusses how best to address and complete each section. She gives hands-on advice about matters such as writing effective research and personal statements and working with research sponsors, as well as nuts-and-bolts tips about navigating the NIH website and other details. This lecture should help applicants save time while creating the strongest possible NRSA proposal.
