Ways of Knowing & Acting: Reconnecting to Mother Earth Symposium, April 8, 9:30am-12:30 pm, at University of Minnesota (UMN) Northrop, Crosby Room - REGISTER BELOW
Presented by Backyard Phenology, a Creative Collaborative of the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) at UMN.

Come to the Reconnecting to Mother Earth Symposium and join a circle of community members, artists, ecologists, educators and students gathering to discuss how to orient ourselves in our world in the past, present, and future. We will bring together many perspectives to examine and speculate on how the intersection of diverse ways of knowing (traditional ecological knowledges, arts, sciences, humanities, community experiences, etc.) can help us to transform and heal in response to and with climate change.  Register below and receive reminders and updates.

The Reconnecting to Mother Earth Symposium will include reflections on Robin Wall Kimmerer's SOLD OUT keynote address, Friday April 7, 7-9 pm at UMN's Rapson Hall. "Mother, scientist, decorated professor, and enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Robin Wall Kimmerer brings an acute care to her reflections on our relationships with the natural world. She is the author of Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teaching of Plants." Pre-register separately (eventbrite) to hear Robin: e.com/e/aaa-robin-wall-kimmerer-tickets-32543076217 (SOLD OUT)

The Symposium is being held in conjunction with the new Roots to Healing exhibition, showing how our stories are inextricably linked to plants from around the globe that have taken root in Minnesota. The exhibition is up at the Northrop 4th Floor Gallery, and is organized by College of Biological Sciences Conservatory.
