LacCore/CSDCO has begun offering short (1-3 day) training courses that are open to applicants at any career stage, with minimal registration fees ($50/course). These new training courses are based on the successful and highly-rated Drilling and Coring Summer Institute (DCSI) for early career scientists, but will not be as fully subsidized by NSF as is the DCSI: participants will be responsible for their own travel, lodging, and meal costs. Courses will take place in Minneapolis.
In order to determine which among the many possible topics to offer — field, laboratory, logistics, curation, geoinformatics, software, broader impacts, proposal writing, etc. — we are gathering community input. Which topics would be useful for you, your colleagues, and your students? We will likely offer several courses each year on a variety of topics.
When you fill out this form, your name will be added to the LacCore/CSDCO email list, which is our primary means of communication with past, current, and potential Facility users. We will send out all announcements of training courses through this email system, so if you wish to receive such announcements, please do not unsubscribe from our emails. You can expect to receive at most one or two emails per month from LacCore/CSDCO, on various topics and opportunities of interest that are closely related to Facility activities.
