Opera Studio presents a very special program entitled "Love Scenes."  Each scene will showcase a different aspect of love, including deceptive, unrequited, brotherly, infatuated, forbidden, first, and Godly love.  Guests artists Marcus McConico, Jeffrey Madison, and Ryan Deignan will direct scenes or perform alongside student performers in scenes from Pirates of Penzance, Hansel and Gretel, Magic Flute, Carmen and others!  

Even more exciting than our theme is our list of guest artists!  We are thrilled to have Jeffrey Madison direct two of our scenes.  He is a fellow Duluthian who teaches at UWS and CSS and has often performed with LOON Opera, the DSSO and the Duluth Playhouse, where he has also directed.

Also on our roster is Dr. Ryan Deignan, who is starting his first year at UMD as a director of Concert Chorale and Vocal Jazz.  He also happens to be an opera singer! 

Marcus McConico, who will be directing two scenes as well as lending his tenor voice to four scenes with our graduate singers to inspire and elevate their artistry.  Duluth audiences may know Marcus as a soloist with the DSSO, LOON Opera, and as a member of the Twin Ports Tenors.
