Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Leadership Summit: Weaving a Tapestry of Identities
The Asian Pacific American Resource Center (APARC) will host our fourth annual AAPI Leadership Summit next spring on Saturday, February 15, 2020. This summit’s theme is “Weaving a Tapestry of Identities”, which is a call to highlight our varying and intersecting identities in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. We draw from the framework of intersectionality (May, 2015; Crenshaw, 1989) to make sense of the complex identities, experiences, and subjectivities that AAPIs embody. We endeavor to create a more nuanced understanding of our AAPI identity by focusing on the ways our differences strengthen us, including social identities like gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, (dis)ability, and more. We aim to see, support, and uplift all of our identities and communities in this space.

Date: Saturday, February 15, 2020
Time: 10:30 AM - 4 PM (Lunch will be provided)
Location: Bruininks Hall
222 Pleasant Street SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455

The day will include a keynote, performance, workshops, and networking time!
