University of Minnesota Crookston Agronomy

Welcome

Welcome to the University of Minnesota Crookston Collegiate Crops Judging site! The University of Minnesota Crookston has a longstanding history of success, 45+ years, in the National Collegiate Crops Judging Contests. Students prepare for the contests through intensive study in crop and weed identification, seed analysis, and grain grading according to the standards of the USDA Federal Grain Inspection Service. This site showcases the efforts and accomplishments of these students.

Members of the UMN Crookston Collegiate Crops Judging Team enjoy an all-expenses-paid trip to the national contests in Kansas City, MO and Chicago, IL. Included in the trip are banquets and educational tours in the Kansas City and Chicago areas, with additional trip opportunities dependent upon student interest. Financial support is provided by the UMN Crookston Agriculture and Natural Resources Department and the generosity of all alumni and friends who have donated to the University of Minnesota Foundation fund established by Chuck Habstritt.
