About the Camp

Experience the exciting and growing field of machine learning. Learn cool programming and math techniques to work on hands-on projects with real world data. By training computer models to identify shapes, trends, and preferences, you can:

Predict winners in a game
Generate custom designs
Diagnose dangerous diseases
Make suggestions about purchases
And much more!

What You Will Learn

Use the Python programming language to analyze sports data, historic data, gaming data, and more that can be found around us on a daily basis
Apply machine learning algorithms to projects of your choice
Gain an understanding of cutting-edge technologies and their applications

Camp Details:

Session 1 - Basic Machine Learning for All Genders - July 8 - 12 - Camp is open to all students regardless of gender.

Session 2 - Basic Machine Learning for All Girls - July 8 - 12 - Camp is designed for girl-identified students, transgender girls, or nonbinary students. Click Here to: Learn more about the All Girls Camp

Session 3 - Deep Learning - Advanced Machine Learning for All Genders - July 15 - 19

Please note: You must have attended either Session 1 or Session 2 Basic Camp to be eligible for Session 3 - Advanced Camp. If you attended the basic camp last year, please indicate that in your application.

Each session will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Camp will take place at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus, East Bank.
Students will need to organize their own transportation to and from campus.
This area is served by the Green Line and Metro Transit bus routes 2,3, and other express routes.
Metro bus passes provided upon request.

Eligibility:

You should be entering 11th or 12th grade.
You have to be interested in exploring the area of machine learning!

Please note: Coding experience is not required, but welcome! We will teach you everything you need to know about coding and the Python language.

Cost: The Camp fee is $75 per session, charged upon confirmation of admission. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, a fee waiver is available upon request. If you are attending two weeks of camp your full cost will be $150 ($75.00 for first week and $75.00 for second week) if you are not planning to request a waiver.
