This new horror musical captures the story of Paula Maxa, the famed French tragedienne who died thousands of deaths for patrons of the horror theater known as the Grand Guignol.

MAXA contains graphic depictions of violence, murder and gore, as well as detailed discussion of rape and suicide. This piece is written with extreme care by a survivor. Recommended for ages 16 & up

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

UMD College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) will follow the University of Minnesota guidelines which will always be based on state and federal scientific data and advice from University of Minnesota public health and medical experts. The most recent update for the UMN systemwide campuses will not require social distancing nor indoor event capacities, however masks are required indoors.

We encourage patrons to get vaccinated before attending. Vaccines are the best way to prevent infection and limit the spread of COVID-19 to others. For more information, see the MDH COVID-19 Vaccine webpage.

The University's vaccination expectations are that those not fully vaccinated are tested weekly. Patrons are expected to self-check for COVID-19 symptoms before arriving. Patrons should not attend if symptomatic, COVID-19 positive, waiting for a COVID-19 test results, or in quarantine/isolation.

MAXA is general admission and we ask that patrons seat themselves with those they come with and leave space between other groups.

*UMD Student ticket options: $10 advance tickets (60% discount on regular ticket prices) OR FREE rush tickets the night of the performance with a valid UMD student ID. UMD students are encouraged to arrive for rush 30 minutes before curtain. Subject to availability.
