Opioid Project

Hello, and welcome to the MNLEND Opioid Project.

We are 2019-2020 MNLEND Fellows Bridget (Genetic Counselor) and Catie (Social Worker). MNLEND stands for Minnesota Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. MNLEND is an interdisciplinary leadership training program spanning 16+ disciplines. There are 52 LEND programs funded by the U.S. Maternal and Child Health Bureau across the nation.

Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) is caused by in utero exposure to substances, including opioids. Having been impacted personally by the opioid epidemic, we wanted to create a website for those seeking clear information about opioid use and its potential effects on child development. We also are providing resources at the end of the site to support children and connect families to information useful for navigating this real struggle.

Life can be really hard sometimes. We hope this site will act as a stepping stone toward feeling it is a little bit more manageable. We are glad you are here. There are 3 steps to this module - see directions below.
