9 | Budget Proposal: While overall costs of the project may be more, the Rapid Response grants will not exceed $5,000. Funding is intended to support research, student time, communications, supplies and equipment. Please note that these grants do not support salary for the PI but you can include salary for support personnel. Local travels costs may be permissible if required by the project and allowable under UMN guidelines and approval. Itemize expenses to be incurred by your project and covered by this grant, providing as much detail as possible. The project needs to end one year from receipt of the grant. You can add months to your budget if they exceed what is written in the template i.e. if your project exceeds 7 months, add the extra months to the template.
