The 9th Annual SW 4-H Animal Science Challenge combines the best of skill-a-thon, project workshops and project bowl into one remarkable event that will challenge any animal science enthusiast!  Again this year, educational and hands-on project workshops are open to everyone.  Participants will work through stations designed to test practical knowledge, understanding of production animal agriculture and critical thinking skills to determine who will meet the challenge!  Teams will compete against each other in a typical Project Bowl format utilizing each member of the team in a rapid-fire, question and answer session.  You can attend as an individual and participant in only the skill-a-thon and presentations. This event will NOT fulfill your LQA&E certification as it has in the past.  *IN 2019* we will have Dairy Project Bowl in addition to Horse & General Livestock.

Project Bowl Teams must provide responsible adults or youth leaders to serve as time keepers, score keepers, etc. to assist with the rounds each team participates in. Coaches, parents & volunteers from both teams are encouraged to work together to run each room efficiently and fairly.

Cost: $10 per youth by February 1, & $15 per youth after February 1.  Individual, partial team (2-4 4-H'ers) or 6-person team registrations accepted. Checks (made payable to University of Minnesota) should be mailed to the Worthington Regional Extension Office (1527 Prairie Drive, Worthington, MN 56187) when you register.

Individuals may be combined to form teams at the event.  YOU DO NOT NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROJECT BOWL.  YOU CAN COME ONLY FOR THE PRESENTATIONS AND SKILL-A-THON!

Please email 20 project bowl questions per team with answers & references to Melissa Runck (mkrunck@umn.edu) by February 1, 2019.  If you do not submit questions there is an extra cost of $10 per team.   **IN 2019**: You must submit NEW or different project bowl questions with your team registration! If coaches and teams want different questions asked each year, then you need to submit new questions (i.e. not the same set of questions you submitted in 2018, 2017, 2016…)
