How to Apply

To transfer into the BSN program at the University of Minnesota, there are two steps to completing an admissions application.

All applicants will complete two steps to apply to the transfer Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Where you are currently enrolled or previously enrolled will determine which option to choose to complete your two steps in the application process. Both steps are due by February 1.

We encourage applicants to wait to submit their supplemental application until after fall semester grades have been posted so they can provide complete prerequisite information.

An Institution Outside the University of Minnesota System

Step 1: Please complete the University of Minnesota Transfer Application

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions collects and reviews applications to ensure requirements are completed before forwarding to the School of Nursing for review. While our nursing program is located in Rochester, it is a University of Minnesota Twin Cities program and therefore a transfer application must be submitted to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and not the University of Minnesota Rochester.

When completing your transfer application select Nursing as your first choice major. When you do, a BSN supplemental application for the School of Nursing will be integrated in your application.
