4-H Youth in Action Program - Consultation for MN applicants
Hello! 

We're excited you're considering applying for the Youth in Action program, facilitated by National 4-H Council! Minnesota 4-H staff are looking forward to providing feedback on your application. 

Before developing your application materials, please review the applicant guidelines. There are some important changes to the program this year, so be sure to look through the guidelines closely. The website is also a great resource to see the application and review some of the stories of those who've been recognized in the past.

You are highly encouraged to get feedback from others on your application. Below, you can submit all, or parts of your application for review by Minnesota 4-H and Extension staff. Here are some important dates:
  • Feb. 21 at 6:00 p.m. - Informational webinar for youth applicants (if you can't attend live, still register to receive a copy of the recording) Register here
  • March 11 - Deadline to receive feedback from MN 4-H and Extension staff; submissions after this date will be reviewed as we are able
  • March 18 - Return date for applications submitted by March 11
  • April 1 - Application deadline

Essay Questions

Describe a project, program, 4‑H activity or series of activities in which you demonstrated leadership. Detail how your leadership has improved or impacted your community.(4000 Characters)What motivated you to be a leader? What was your leadership role? When and where did your work occur? Is it on-going? What steps did you take to carry out your work? Did teamwork play a role? What or who benefitted? What are the long-term effects of your work?

Great submissions will provide clear examples of your leadership in the project!

4-H exists to equip kids with essential life skills, confidence, and a deep sense of belonging through epic hands-on learning experiences. Give us an example of a skill that 4-H has given you that will help you in your future career.
