A Celebration of Hmong American Literature and Art: Kao Kalia Yang and Pao Houa Her in Conversation with Mai Der Vang

On Friday, March 22nd from 6-8pm at the Best Buy Theater in Northrop Auditorium, the Immigration History Research Center will welcome celebrated Hmong American poet Mai Der Vang to discuss the newest works of award winning author Kao Kalia Yang and award winning artist Pao Houa Her. 

Kao Kalia Yang's new works include a children's book titled A Rock in My Throat and a memoir titled Where River's Part: A Story of My Mother's Life. Pao Houa Her will present her first book My Grandfather Turned Into a Tiger...and Other Illusions.  

This event is co-sponsored by the Hmong Cultural Center Museum, the Immigration History Research Center Archives, the Liberal Arts Engagement Hub, the Preserving and Promoting Hmong American History Hub Residency, and the Asian American Studies Department.
