Are you interested in doing drag but never had the opportunity? This is your chance! The Queer Student Cultural Center is partnering with Student Unions & Activities to put on a Drag Show on October 11th for National Coming Out Week and as a part of the show, we'll be holding a two round student competition.
We have no age requirement and no experience is required, we ask only that you bring creativity and excitement to participate in the Minneapolis drag community. Get to meet and perform with some great local professional and amateur performers. The student competition will be 2 rounds, an initial walk, where all competitors will strut the stage to show off their amazing looks and charisma. The crowd favorites will move on to the second round - a group lipsync where they'll each be trying to steal the stage to gain the audience's favor.
Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners of our student competition chosen based on crowd response.
Because the theme for this event is 50 Years of Pride, we encourage you to dress up as or draw inspiration from your favorite LGBTQ+ icons!
We look forward to seeing y'all come out and show us what you've done! Fill out this survey to indicate your interest in participating, and a representative of the QSCC will contact you soon to talk about the show!
