Student Volunteer: SAO Grants Committee Member

Description
Student Activities Office (SAO) Grant cCommittee members are to provide a neutral and equitable review of grants applications. Members provide guidance in support of student development, particularly around event planning and financial management, for student groups applying for grant funding. Committee members will be expected to attend monthly, pre-scheduled in-person meetings to deliberate on split decisions. Volunteers will be given a stipend payment of $150 each month you participate, paid September and February, as well as lunch provided during monthly meetings.
Duties & Responsibilities:
85% Reading and evaluating grant applications
15% In- person meeting to make recommendations for grant awards
Requirements
- Current University of Minnesota - Twin Cities degree-seeking student.
- Must be currently enrolled and have paid the Student Services Fee (SSF) on the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities Campus throughout time of service on the committee.
- Must be in good academic standing at the time of application and remain in good academic standing throughout time of service on the committee.
- Ability to make viewpoint neutral and equitable decisions.
- Ability to interpret policy and recommend a course of action.
- Capacity to spend 8-10 hours one week per month to review applications virtually.
- In-person attendance at monthly committee member meetings

- Experience working with confidential documents
