Partners4Pain - Community Stakeholder Information Sheet - Giving Feedback

Researchers:

Roni Evans, DC, MS, PhD and Brent Leininger, DC, MS, PhD
Integrative Health & Wellbeing Research Program, University of Minnesota

Partners4Pain is a community engaged research project. This means that researchers and community members work together to do the research.

What participants will be expected to do:

We are asking individuals from local communities to share their experiences and opinions with our team of researchers and community partners. We are especially interested in hearing from people who have not been included in research. This includes Black, Indigenous or People of Color, or who have access to less financial resources. This will take up to 2 hours, and we will compensate you for participating ($50.00 gift card). Everything you share will be kept private. We will not share your name or contact information with anyone.

Ways to share information: You are invited to meet with our research team (individually or in groups) to share your thoughts and opinions about participating in pain research.

We may ask you about:

●      Yourself, for example your race, gender, employment status. We will NOT ask you about your immigration status.

●      Ideas on how to encourage others to participate in research

●      Where and how to recruit people from the community to participate in research

●      The types of things that make it harder or easier for people to participate in research about pain

●      Opinions about our  research and pain management resources

●      Ideas for making research procedures and results more accessible, equitable or culturally appropriate

●      Your experience supporting somebody with back or neck pain, things you have found helpful or unhelpful, and other things you think it is important for our team to know

Risks: The information gathered is not expected to put individuals at risk. Participation is voluntary and participants are free to not answer questions they feel are uncomfortable.
