I tried to sign up for the free offer, but received a message that said "this email is already in use." What do I do now?

This message indicates you already have an account, but not necessarily an annual membership, with Shipt. You will need to cancel that account by calling 205-502-2500 before you can sign up with your @umn.edu email address for your free membership. Your account will be cancelled immediately and you will receive an email to that effect soon after. Once you have cancelled, be sure you are signed out of that account and then you will be able to sign up for the free account. If you need additional assistance, contact annalee@shipt.com.

What is the University of Minnesota’s relationship with Shipt?

The University of Minnesota does not operate or take responsibility for Shipt services. Shipt is an independent third party company, not a vendor or subcontractor of the University. The University is only communicating that this offer has been made available by Shipt as a pilot to students, staff and faculty. If a student or employee chooses to take advantage of the free one-year Shipt membership offer, it is the student or employee who will own the relationship with Shipt. It is up to the individual student or employee to review Shipt service terms and privacy policy before deciding whether to sign up with Shipt. The University does not guarantee the success or quality of the Shipt services.

What if I already have a Shipt membership?

Once your current membership expires, you can subscribe for the free membership as long as you do that before the free membership offer expires on January 22, 2024.

How does the ordering/delivery work?

Shipt members who place an order with Shipt, select a one-hour window when they would like the order delivered. The Shipt member should choose a window when they are home/residence hall to receive the order. The member must meet the shopper at the door to receive their order. The University will not permit the order to be left in a lobby or with a University employee. Shipt policy says it will attempt to contact the customer repeatedly before returning the purchases to the store; however, the University has no role or control over the services and will not be able to assist if delivery is not successful. Students and employees should reach out to Shipt directly if there are concerns or issues with a grocery delivery.
