2021 Teen Architecture Workshop Application Form

The WAM Teen Architecture Workshop is an exciting weeklong workshop for high school students that offers the opportunity to work with professional architects, engineers and designers from the University of Minnesota at the Weisman Art Museum. Posed as an architectural project, participants will explore, design, and build creative solutions in a professional setting. No specific design experience is necessary, just a keen interest in art, design, engineering or architecture as a field and possible career.

This is an application for enrollment in the program. Space is limited. Once filled, students may be placed on a waiting list. Eligible students must be entering grades 10-12 in the fall of 2021.

Fee: $200 (scholarships available)

This workshop is from Monday, August 2nd through Friday, August 6th, 2021 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. All sessions are held at the Weisman Art Museum on the campus of the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Weisman Art Museum,  333 East River Parkway,  Minneapolis, MN 55455.

Need-Based Scholarship Information:
There are a limited number of need-based scholarships available to be used to cover the cost of the workshop fee. The requirements to qualify for this scholarship include:

1) The applicant must be eligible for  Free or Reduced School Meals.
2) The applicant must maintain a C average (2.0) GPA.

 If you believe you may qualify for this scholarship based on the criteria listed above please check the "yes" box below to receive the scholarship application materials via mail/email.The deadline to get all scholarship information in is May 15th, 2021.

Application Deadline and Acceptance
The application deadline for the WAM Teen Architecture Workshop is June 5, 2021 or until filled. Please Note: If you are applying for a scholarship the deadline to have all materials in is May 15th. Early submittal of application is encouraged due to the limited space available.

Students will be notified on a first come first serve basis via mail regarding their acceptance into the program. Those accepted will receive an initial acceptance package that includes a letter of acceptance, invoice for payment, emergency contact sheet, as well as a photo and video release form. A confirmation letter and detailed workshop information will be mailed out after receiving payment and required forms.

To ensure the best experience, the workshop is limited to 35 students.  All art materials are included. Students are responsible for their own transportation and parking costs. Students need to bring a lunch.

Fee Information
The fee for all attendees is $200.  

If you need to cancel, there is a $50 nonrefundable processing fee.

Students whose enrollment has been accepted will be invoiced with the initial acceptance letter and confirmed once payment is received.

A limited number of need-based scholarships will be available.
