A research symposium to help Extension help communities

On May 15, 2018, the Extension Center for Community Vitality hosted a symposium on Minnesota's workforce. The symposium welcomed researchers, scholars and staff from throughout the University. Our goal was to connect Extension to research and scholarship that can help Minnesota's employers and economic development leaders address issues of workforce attraction and retention. We also wanted to connect university researchers to each other, inspiring them to conduct multi-disciplinary research about workforce capacity and economic development.

On this site, you'll find ten presentations about issues that affect Minnesota's workforce issues, and the documented proceedings of the discussions at this event.

The workforce symposium was funded, in part, by the EDA Center at the University of Minnesota-Crookston.
