Please join us for HazMaTON’s 2024 Summer Webinar Series! Webinars will take place once per month from July through September. Webinars are held on Wednesdays at 12:00 p.m. EDT. They are free and open to the public, but advance registration is required. Webinar topics include freshwater oil spill research, oil spill planning and preparedness, and oil spill response tools and technologies. These webinars are meant for non-experts with a vested interest in oil spill science in the Laurentian Great Lakes region. July 17: "Spilling oil into a boreal lake: Lessons learned from our whole ecosystem studies on the fate and effects of oil spills and non-invasive clean-up approaches in Canadian freshwater systems" by Dr. Jose Luis Rodriguez-Gil. August 28: "NOAA Office of Response and Restoration: FY23 Overview of Accomplishments, Oil and Chemical Spill Scientific Support, and Great Lakes Case Studies" by LCDR Chris Duffy. September 25 (note date changed from September 18): "Updates from the U.S. Coast Guard Great Lakes Oil Spill Center of Expertise" by CDR Christoper "Kit" Pace.
